Once upon a time there was a French boy & Australian girl who shared a delicious dream to forge a French food haven together.

After a long adult conversation, that definitely didn’t involve any disagreements, arguments, or eye-rolling… the pair edged to the end of their comfort mountain, took each others hands, closed their eyes and jumped! And MON POULET was born. Ex-Head Chef to winery Yering Station, and with nearly 20 years experience in the food industry, Max's philosophy of "simple food done well" along with his passion & creativity looks to provide an alternative type of takeaway to the outer Eastern suburbs of Melbourne.


An upmarket Chicken & Chip shop and what makes us different, is that our food is made by a French, Michelin trained Chef. We call ourselves a 'Rôtisserie Française' which are common in France - often found is small and large villages, a Rôtisserie is a combination of a Chicken shop & Deli, selling indulgent fresh food, all healthy, all local, all simple and delicious.


We're not your typical takeaway! Conveniently located at the foot of the Dandenong Ranges, a local favourite and voted into the Top 10 (by Timeout) of Melbourne's Best Chicken Shops, we're the perfect stopover for a home-style meal, or perhaps an indulgent picnic on your adventures to the Yarra Valley.

We serve hot roasted chickens (gluten free), French inspired meat dishes like 18hr Wagyu Beef Brisket, Slow Cooked Lamb Shanks, and Beef Bourguignon (also gluten free), hot chips (but, of course!) & a variety of French inspired salads, vegetable dishes, terrines, parfaits, breads AND French desserts are all on our menu and made in house, by Michelin trained French Chef - Maxime Croiset.

In French, MON POULET means 'my chicken'.
